Scouts are aged from ten and a half to fourteen. They take part in activities that help them to develop their abilities and creative talents. Being outdoors is important, and Scouts learn skills such as camping, survival and cooking, as well as taking part in adventurous activities such as climbing and sailing.
Ladybrook Valley has some really adventurous Scout troops offering great troop evenings and camps. As a district we are running a camp for Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders in March 2016. This camp brings our PL’s and APL’s together to learn the skills they need to lead their patrols. We develop both the physical skills such as fire lighting, using axes and saws, pioneering etc and also the leadership, teamwork, communication and other personal skills so valuable, not just in scouts but in life.
