LVD Totem Pole competition

Eight Cub Packs from 1st Bramhall (Pine Pack), 2nd Hazel Grove, 3rd Hazel Grove (Seneca), 1st Hazel Grove (Mao), 3rd Hazel Grove (Shawnee), 1st Woodford, 1st Hazel Grove (Jacala) and 4th Bramhall (Raphael) each with teams of up to 6 Cubs, attended the annual District Cub Totem Pole Competition on Saturday 14th March 2015 at 3rd Hazel Grove Scout HQ.  The Cubs had a fun afternoon on various bases based around the Naturalist Badge. Working in teams they had a seashore Kim’s game, a wildlife quiz, played beetle with a dice, made pompom insects, studied lifecycles, made an outdoor collage, played guess what’s in the feely boxes, completed a tracking hunt and identified garden birds, scoring points for creativity, knowledge and teamwork on each base.

1st Bramhall (Pine Pack) were declared the winners with 224 points, followed by 2nd Hazel Grove in second place with 211 points and 3rd Hazel Grove (Seneca) and 1st Hazel Grove (Mao) joint third on 207 points. Well done to all those who took part and many thanks to 3rd Hazel Grove for hosting the competition and to the participating leaders who helped to make it such a success.
